How it all started
In the spring of 2018, the MSHSAA voted to add girls wrestling as an official sport starting in the winter of 2018. This was great news for the wrestling community not only in Missouri but across the country. After an hour or so after hearing the news, I walked down to my administration office and said. “Missouri approved girls wrestling. We are adding it and we are going to host the biggest and best girls’ tournament in the country. Nine months later we ran the first ever Wonder Woman tournament at Battle high school. There were 189 wrestlers from 29 teams from Missouri and one from Arkansas that competed in the inaugural event. Our last event saw 627 girls from 88 schools and 7 states compete for Wonder Woman supremacy. We are now expanding and operating as a nonprofit to better serve the very ladies that have given us the success and notoriety across the wrestling community.
